All WYS referees are encouraged to get certified (patched).  All certified referees earn more money per game than noncertified referees. Woburn Youth Soccer covers the cost for referee certification courses for Woburn referees.  Certified Woburn referees are required to officiate at least ten WYS soccer games the season immediately following certification. Un-cleated shoes and turf shoes are also allowed. Baseball cleats, football cleats, etc. (molded or metal) with a toe cleat are dangerous and not allowed on the soccer pitch!
